About BCP
In simple terms the Beechdale
Community Partnership is:
• One single Governing Body will oversee both schools – this is
known as a Federation of Schools
• The schools will work even closer together in ensuring that, for
example, transition arrangements for KS2 pupils between the two
schools are as smooth as possible.
• The Federation will look to develop a wide variety of links with
its immediate
neighbours – Hatherton Children’s Centre, Mary Elliot and the Frank
F Harrison Community Association.
• Other partner primary schools will be given every possible
opportunity to work closely with the Federation and to participate
in its work and activities.
• The long term aim of the Federation is to develop the use of the
Campus by as many other Community Partners as possible in order to
develop it as a centre for local people to access learning and
services.
• In order to help develop the Federation, ready for it to begin
operating in January, the Governing Bodies of the two schools have
been restructured to become one single body comprising of 20
Governors. In addition to this a Change Team has been established
which is made up of six staff from both schools. They will meet
three times before the end of January to discuss ideas and make
recommendations about how the Federation might operate in the best
interests of both schools, their partners and the wider local
community.
We look forward to keeping you fully
informed of the further development of the BCP and trust that you
will be able to appreciate the benefits that it will bring to our
community.
