SPORTING AIMS AND PROVISION:-

The college has the following sporting aims:-

 To promote the idea of 'Sport for All' by providing open access for all students to all clubs and activities linked with Physical Education.

 To provide physical activities which help to develop students both as individuals and as members of teams.

 To help students become aware of and to conform to the principles of 'fair play' and to develop the idea that it is not winning at all costs but win or lose, it is important as to how you play the game.

To promote a healthy lifestyle.

 

 Provision

 Most traditional sports, games and activities are provided at Frank F. Harrison Emgimeering College through the Curriculum, these include football, cricket, netball, rugby, volleyball, basketball, badminton, athletics, dance, swimming, step aerobics, aerobics and keep fit, trampoline, rounders and weight and fitness training, Golf, Orienteering,aqua aerobics, Life guarding, thai boxing, baseball, softball & circuit training. During the academic year 2004/5 the school was involved in inter-school sports in soccer, basketball, athletics, rugby and cricket. Students also had the opportunity of taking part in outdoor pursuits at the Bryntisilio Centre in North Wales.

Christopher Antill signed a 2yr contract with Tranmere Rovers FC

Yr 9 Boys came 3rd in league

 

Girls football represented Walsall in Under 13 Cup competiotion

6th Form came 2nd in league

 

 

Cricket

Represented Cannock C.C 1st xI in Birmingham Premier Division:- Ben Bradley

 

Rugby

Represented Bloxwich Rugby Club under 13's - Jacob McCausland, Matthew Adams

Represented Bloxwich Ladies - Sophie Shaw, Charmaine Price

 

Athletics

U13 Walsall Schools Champion at 100ms, 200ms, & Long Jump - Luke Spiers

Represented Birchfield Harriers and England trialist - Luke Spiers

 

Dance

Three routines in the Walsall Schools Dance Festival

GCSE Dance Group participated at the NEC 'Leisure and Tourism Show.

 

Swimming

Jacob McCausland & Matthew Adams competed in Walsall Schools Gala swimming Breast Stroke & Butterfly respectivly

 

Extra Curricular Activities
